Update: Suspect apprehended in murder of TCC student

A 22-year-old woman was found dead on the 2600 block of Waits Avenue Tuesday. The Tarrant County medical examiner declared Molly Matheson’s cause of death as strangulation and ruled it a homicide. A suspect has been arrested in connection to the case.

Below are updates regarding the case.

04/28/2017: Fort Worth police said today they have arrested a man in connection with the death of Molly Matheson.

04/13/2017: Dr. Allen Goben, president of the Tarrant County College Northeast Campus in Hurst where Matheson was a student issued the following statement: “We are deeply saddened by the tragic death of Molly Matheson, and offer our heartfelt condolences to her family and friends during this difficult time.”

04/13/2017: There was no forced entry into the residence, according to Fort Worth Police Officer Jimmy Pollozani.

04/12/2017: TCU Vice Chancellor of Student Affairs Kathy Cavins-Tull sent an email to students stating that TCU police will be expanding their patrol borders and adding additional off-duty Fort Worth Police Department officers and will continue until the suspect has been arrested or determined to no longer be a threat.
